Corey Zaharuk

Corey served as a police officer for 26 years including six years in a senior executive role at the rank of superintendent before retiring in 2021. Throughout his career he conducted and provided oversight to countless, complex investigations. He also served as a critical incident commander, developed responses to large-scale public safety operations, and led complex organizational changes. Corey has consistently built strong working partnerships, is highly experienced in developing inclusive community safety strategies and is drawn to working on behalf of others.

In addition to being a team member of ITP Sport, Corey is the executive director of a provincial police oversight agency. In this role, he leads initiatives that ensures communities are safe, effective law enforcement services are present, and police and the communities they serve have positive relationships.

Corey has a specialized certificate in effectively identifying, managing, investigating, and resolving workplace harassment complaints. He holds a Bachelor of Education, a Master’s Certificate in Public Management and is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police, Executive Research Forum. He is also an alumnus member and international research participant of the Executive Global Studies Program, Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police.
