Passionate. Protective. Persuasive. These three words describe the Founder of ITP Sport, Ilan Yampolsky, one of Canada’s leading voices in safe sport. His initial work in this field began with Scouts Canada, where he identified areas of risk, and then developed and implemented the Safe Scouting Department. He transferred his skills to sport as the first-ever Director, Safe Sport for Skate Canada, where he oversaw all aspects of the Enterprise Risk Management Program. He also previously served as Director of Safe Sport and Integrity for Tennis Canada, where he oversaw all aspects of the safe sport program. He staunchly believes in creating and maintaining safe environments for young people and is most proud of being recognized by The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, with the Certificate of Commendation, awarded in 2014 for service to scouting and work for the protection of Canadian youth. In 2018, he saw the need for an independent organization that could come alongside national, provincial and grassroots sport and recreation organizations, to prevent maltreatment and protect organizations and their members. In establishing ITP Sport and Recreation, he has developed one of the foremost teams in the country, with extensive experience and expertise at all levels of safeguarding in sport and other youth organizations. It is more than his work. It is his passion.
