Julie is a passionate sport leader with a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian sport system acquired over three decades of working in university sport and in national and multisport organizations. She has had the privilege of supporting Team Canada at eight hockey world championships, six Olympic Games and two Pan American Games as the Director of Female Hockey for Hockey Canada, as a Manager of Team Services for the Canadian Olympic Committee and as the Chief Sport Officer for Canada Artistic Swimming. Julie is also a Chartered Professional Coach certified at Level 4 NCCP (Hockey) who coached women’s ice hockey for 25 years at the university, provincial and national level.
Julie’s passion and dedication comes from her genuine desire to empower people to be the best version of themselves. She imagines a world where individuals are passionate about what they do, feel safe in their environment so they can execute, with excellence, to the best of their ability and are fulfilled every day by what they have accomplished, both individually and as members of a team.

Monica has spent her entire life in her passion of sport. Becoming a figure skating coach at the age of 16, she kick started her purpose of coaching, creating programming for and developing hundreds of coaches in the sport of figure skating. As a coach educator for over 20 years, Monica has contributed to the National Coaching Certification Program as a leader, master facilitator, and a board member of The Coaching Association of Canada. She also is a board member of Skate Canada and contributes to many organizations in a volunteer capacity. When not on the ice, Monica advocates for mental and addiction awareness, a cause near and dear to her heart.

Her experience covers nearly 30 different sports at the Olympic, World Championships or Major Games level, working on almost every continent. Creating a safe environment where athletes can excel and feel comfortable behind the scenes as well as on the field of play is always her goal. She is known for her ability to support athletes through the media gauntlet, while still ensuring journalists can work effectively and tell the story. Accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), in 2014, Barb received IABC Canada’s highest distinction, named a Master Communicator for both her skilled expertise and contributions to the profession. She’s the ultimate professional, who establishes a rapport easily with both athletes and media, to see them all succeed.
